Pauls Bio Paul Weiss, MS, BS

Paul Weiss is a Programmer/Analyst and Communications specialist for the
Southern Maine Regional Resource Center for Public Health Emergency
Preparedness (http://www.smrrc.org/) at Maine Medical Center (MMC)
(http://www.mmc.org) in Portland. Paul provides information support for the
department. This includes being a webmaster of (http://www.smrrc.org), and
maintaining a department database. Paul is involved with many other aspects of
communications and emergency planning support functions.
Paul has been working at MMC as Computer Systems Specialist for
several years and has had opportunities in several departments including
Psychiatry, Nursing, Radiology and Information Services.
In the past years, Paul worked in the Bio-technology industry for
BIODESIGN International (http://www.biodesign.com) in Saco and IDEXX
Laboratories (http://www.idexx.com) in Westbrook. Working in this field Paul used
skills in Biological and Computer Sciences, traveling throughout the United
States, doing unique research in Veterinary Science, Human Health, Water
Quality testing and Instrumentation.
Paul has a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science Degree from Central
Connecticut State University (http://www.ccsu.edu). The BS in Biology includes a
Geography minor, and secondary teacher certification in science. The MS
degree is in Environmental Biology. Paul also has a Computer Hardware
associate’s level program.
Paul has worked as a professional ski, climbing, paddling, and wilderness
guide for many years and now does this part time and recreationally with his wife.
